A Death Cafe is an opportunity for people to gather, share food and drink, and engage in a group-directed conversation about death. Please note, a Death Cafe is not a grief support group or a counseling session.

Yoga Nidra, “yogic sleep” is the practice of sleep with a trace of awareness. Yoga Nidra leads us into a deep state of consciousness, in which we rest in spacious awareness and presence. It has has been found to ease anxiety, stress, insomnia, chronic pain and the effects of living amidst the demands of this modern world.

In honor of November as National Alzheimer's Awareness month, join us in a community conversation about pro-active steps we can take to help maintain and preserve our brain health. Offered in collaboration with the Penn Alzheimer's Disease Research Center, this presentation will offer science-backed tips and lifestyle changes we can incorporate into our daily lives, and close with a Q&A session.
Family Live Arts Cultural Series: Celebrating Native American Heritage Month
Walk in the footsteps of our Lenape Delaware Indian ancestors! Celebrate Native American Heritage Month, connecting past and present customs in a presentation by Turtle clan descendant Carla Messinger, filled with story, traditional dance, a traveling ‘touch and feel’ exhibit of authentic artifacts, crafting and food tastes in this educational enrichment program for the whole family.

FUNDRAISER: Hoedown and (not just pie) PIE Auction!
The PAC Center will host a good old-fashioned family barn dance with live music, followed by the Bluegrass Band The Hoppin’ Boxcars for adult dancing, kids activities on the lower level and …. Drum roll… a silent (not just ) PIE auction! There will be fabulous raffle prizes and food, beer and more. All money raised in this fundraiser will help support the daily operations of our beloved community center.

Home for the Holidays: Yuletide Yoga & Mimosas
Take a break from the holiday hustle, support a very worthy local cause, and treat yourself to a soul-soothing Yuletide Yoga session with PAC yoga teacher and Director of Adult Programs, Mary Thompson. Following our yoga session we’ll enjoy festive mimosas, bagels and scones, preparing us to enjoy the rest of the day. For every person registered, the PAC will donate $5 to the Domestic Abuse Project of Delaware County, located in Media, whose mission is to prevent domestic violence and empower victims to move towards self-sufficiency.

Home for the Holidays: Pysanky Egg Workshop
Take Tammy's beginner Ukrainian egg class! In just two hours she'll teach you the traditional wax-resist method of creating Pysanky eggs. Using beeswax and a writing tool called a kistka, Tammy will guide you step-by-step to decorate your own Easter egg. Pysanky writing has been passed down for generations in Ukrainian culture. Don't miss this fun class to learn this beautiful art form! These workshops will fill up quickly, grab your spot!

This reading will support the United Academics of Philadelphia’s Solidarity Fund, which addresses needs and financial burdens arising from emergency hardship. All proceeds contributed will go to the Solidarity Fund and be earmarked for UArts Union Faculty and Staff.

Park Avenue Concert Series: Lake Shore Quartet
In 2023, The Lake Shore Quartet reunited for a performance at Swarthmore’s Park Avenue Concerts. On October 6, the quartet returns with a program of classical gems that will bring two central pieces of the string quartet literature to our community: Mozart’s “The Hunt” quartet and the second quartet by Romantic composer Felix Mendelssohn.
