All Ages / Men & Boys Welcome!
Join the women of PASHI - an intergenerational powerhouse who’s mission is to make and donate reuseable menstrual pads, and carry pouches, to schools and organizations in Africa and beyond, serving school girls.
On April 5 we will gather in the Great Hall for a brief presentation and follwed by a hands on demonstration of how these pads are made. We'll get the chance to help create these products while making new friends, building community and enjoying our company over pizza and great music.
Many girls miss school and other activities because they can not afford disposable menstrual hygiene products. PASHI teaches Middle and High School aged youth in the Philadelphia area how to make the donation items, along with teaching them life skills classes. They give away items in the Tri-State area that also benefit those who are unsheltered.
This event is proudly co-sponsored by the Rotary Club of Swarthmore and the Park Avenue Community Center. All are welcome including men and boys! You do not need to know how to sew. All materials will be provided but if you'd like to bring any notions here is what they need:
